WnW Bristol F.2b Fighter
« on: March 11, 2019, 04:48:25 AM »
Good day folks. After a couple of years on and off the bench, this model is finished with a couple of figures from Model Cellar. I did finish the engine with some details etc. but thought the overall look I wanted was a buttoned-up cowling. That wasn't easy as the fit was rather difficult. I'll blame my limited modelling skills, but don't wonder why so many of these finished pieces leave the cowlings off (as suggested by the instruction pamphlet). The original aircraft (flown by Keith Park) was photographed with a spinner on the propeller resembling a dunce cap - I chose to leave that off so the model wouldn't appear too clown-like.
Cheers,
Gary

Magnificent Gary, superb job on my favorite Wingnut Wings Kit. I hope I'll see it in Nanton at this year's Regional Contest. It's a long Build I found as well and you've spent your time very well! Congratulations on a beautiful addition to your collection.
Cheers,
Lance

Beautiful, Gary! To me it‘s always the „over all impression“, mostly the shape of a plane, which makes me like it or not. So, although I truly admire those, who have that engineer's spirit and know how to make e.g. the plane's engine a model in its own right, I tend to be impressed mostly by a beautiful over all appearance of a model.

Thanks so much for the kind words, gentlemen. Yes Lance - I hope to bring this build down to the show in Nanton. The risk of damage to this one is high - I must admit to breaking and repairing a hundred parts during this build. I guess I'll use lots of bubble wrap.
Cheers,
Gary

Great Brisfit dio - and since I just finished a build (in smaller scale) I know all the details your model is perfectly showing!
Wonderful.

Cheers,
