Formaplane 1/72 Hanriot HD-1
« on: February 24, 2019, 01:52:57 PM »
Hello All,

I'm sorry that I started this before the start of the Memorial Group Build, that's something I definitely want to participate in.  I'll pick something suitable soon.

I picked this kit out of the stash because I needed a vac "fix" to help with a lack of mojo after the holidays.  it turned out to be a good choice because it is a gem of a kit and it just about fell together by itself.

I did add lengths of stretched sprue to the engraved rib locations on the wings, and then faired them in with Mr. Surfacer and sanding.

I used Print Scale decals to depict an Italian machine flown by Sergente Guido Nardini in the summer of 1917.

Thanks for looking!

-Dan

How you modellers turn vacuforms into something like this is beyond me! Simply wonderful. Incredible finish too.

Awesome looking vac form!  Very clean build.

It was a Hanriot, so I had to look.

Simply outstanding work on a Vac kit. Like all of the others I must comment that it is a VERY neat and clean build!

It's hard to believe this little jewel is a Vac Kit, it looks to be a larger scale and the finish gives it a detailed and "full up injection Kit" appearance!
Beautiful job on it Dan, one to be proud of!
Cheers,
Lance

Oh yeah, that is really a nice Hanriot! The vac base is no more visible.
