One of my entries into this group build will be this RNAS pup, done with the livery of N6183 "Mildred H." using Pheon decals. Having just completed my first wingnut wings kit, I'm looking forward to the challenge!

Ian, you may want to try turning your flash off to eliminate the glare.

Looking forward to your build.

Nice choice.  I would like to get a WNW Sopwith Pup sometime.

Thanks all! Gene, glare was from unfortunately bright ceiling light. I’ve just begin on the cockpit and engine, will be posting pictures shortly!

Hello all! finally off and running on my RNAS Pup. I had been working rapidly on a 1:48 DC-3 for another group build, and I'm fairly content with how it came out!

Anyways, back to the Pup. I like to start my builds with the engine, so I eagerly tore into the Le Rhone sprue tree and got to work.

When I went to attach the valve pushrods, disaster struck! I have only just begun using Tamiya Thin, and I was caught my surprise when some wicked down my thumb while I was holding the pushrods against the cylinder heads, and I had a meltdown on some cylinders and pushrods.

I reached out to David at WNW and there are no spare sprues available, so working on a couple possibilities in order to proceed. Until the next post!

Sorry to see your issue with the Tamiya extra thin! It can be a problem if you aren't careful! I know because I just sealed up ALL of the pre drilled rigging holes on My Nieuport build.

Hello All! due to a back injury, I realized I would not be able to finish both of my builds by the deadline. I am still going to continue with this build, but it will be outside the group build. Moderators, if you care to move this thread to Under Construction, that would be totally fine with  me.

Oh, as a side note, I succeeded in finding a replacement engine and have that complete. I pressed on with the damaged one as well, and it came out looking acceptable. I'll consider keeping it for another build or using it as a stand-alone display. pictures soon!

I will be looking for your continuation in the Under Construction section. I hope you are well on your way to having your back in order!

Thanks Rick! Back is feeling much better. With the Albatros finished, I have resumed progress on the Pup! I did source a replacement engine, and now that it seems WNW will be producing more I will have to stock up! I mustered up even more courage and rigged the spark plug wires. very happy with the end result.

I've also completed the cockpit and have it installed in one of the fuselage halves. I apologize for the poor lighting, I've been trying lots of different approaches and I feel I can't get anything properly illuminated. Hopefully I will have a sunny day soon and can try outdoors rather than the dungeon of a house. at any rate, here's where Mildred stands at the moment.
