Hi Guys ! Hey , thanks a bunch  8)

Made a bit more progress over the weekend , okay a fair bit of progress actual . Side panels are done , same as the prop . Land gearing and wheels are well under way with weathering still to follow . Guns are done for the most part as well as the rudder which still needs the second round of decals . All other bits are painted/weathered or waiting weathering until assembled . I tried to get the best fit possible with out the use of to much filler . Not show is the upper decking I painted the underside the shade as the framing and flooring . Tail planes is fixed place and tail skid painted up which still needs a bit more work .

Beautiful wood effect!
which colors and techniques did you use?

You've made a lot of progress.  It looks great.  I like the wood panelling on the fuse sides.

The details on those machine guns is truly amazing. The colours which you have used to emphasise details are super - in fact the whole model is super! Looking forward to seeing tis one finished.

Glad that you guys are enjoying the build just as much as I'm .  :) Thanks for your support ! Was going to start airbrushing the primer for the fuselage and top wing , but it's raining right now , nothing like those spring showers to freshen things up  and hamper my plans . Should be able to start tomorrow or the next day ...maybe  :'(

Kalt , I did the side panels in this order .

1. base primer  Tamiya wooden deck tan . Let this dry for at least 12 hours .

2. I used two different shades of artist pencil crayons alternating between the two shade skipping the odd space so it didn't look uniforum .

3. I then used a q-tip and rub the whole surface in circle .

4. I thinned Tamiya smoke and sprayed that along the wing root area and inspection hatches until I was pleased with the  effect . Then I made one pass along all the edges of the panels .

5. Next many , many thin coats of tamiya clear yellow was built up . Set side for 24 hours to dry .

6. A wash was then applied using Flory Models line ( brown ) and let this dry . Wipe off the excess

7. This was all sealed with Testors dull coat to dull it and blend it all together .

Success was had today !  By the end of the day the weather started to behave and was able to do a bit of airbrushing . Prime coat is on  :) Will let this dry for 24 hours , then comes the Vallejo Metal coat - white aluminum . Also got a wash on the wheels and undercarriage . Still need to choose a scheme and find rigging manitrail , wasn't able to get easyline .

What size of mono line are you guys using ? I have 0.23mm which is way to big ! In the cockpit I used smoke thread and stretched spuce and that didn't go very well for me .

"What size of mono line are you guys using ?"

I use 0.005" (0.127 mm) for most rigging, which is 0.16" in full scale, and 0.007" (0.178 mm) sometimes.
