Fokker D.VII OAW Leusch, Eduard 1/48, 3.7.2019 Question oils

A short question regarding the impression.

I have the oils on the cowling:

In real the impression is different, but anyway:
What do you think? Ok, to much, to less (I don't want it to hefty)?
The oils are fresh, so I can change it.

Cheers,
Frank

Looks good to me. Seems a very light application of the wash but too heavy is worse than not enough, JMHO.

I agree with Rick: too little is far superior to too much. Sometimes those machines did look a bit the worse for wear, but they still had to be in a good enough condition to fly and the crews did look after themaccordingly. Don't change it too much!

Agree with Rick and Stephen, dirty enough to highlight use, but not too much that it detracts from this beautiful build.  Its been said before, "less is more".

  • Sergeant, my brown pants.......
The oils are very even toned so the nose looks well used but not beaten to a pulp. As is works!!

Today I completed the Fokker and made some day light pictures.

I wholly agree with the others Frank. An excelllent build log (as usual), superb fine details and an even more superb finish. A very worthy tribute to Des.

The blue overpaint on the fuse looks really good and the oil weathering on the nose certainly isn't overdone.
A fine model all the way around!
