Sorry Bob but I forgot the deadline for this. That is a simply fantastic tribute to Des especially the base which is very original. The details are just what we have come to expect from you - a first clas  modeller. Many congratulations on such a fine model.

I had a good tail wind pushing me over the line.

The idea for the base came to me a couple of days before the deadline. I just primed the MDF base with Halfords Grey primer and then sprayed a top coat of black stove paint. The lettering was cut using my vinyl cutter, placed and then finished off with Gold gild paste, which was applied with q-tips. I whipped the mask off thinking there would be bleed, but luckily the Gods were with me. I'm very happy with the outcome.
