I went with the Cedar Jim, a really nice colour.

The results are in and (as predicted) PC10 came up the winner with three votes , closely followed by walnut and cedar on two each.

However, since I live in a benevolent dictatorship ruled by SHMBO who would not appreciate the deck to be a camouflage green, I decided to run with Merbau instead (I had to pay $70 extra to get the walnut or cedar, as these colours didn't come pre-mixed in the can and would have ended up with a couple litres more than I needed).

Here's a couple of shots I took of the deck before and after I started painting this morning:




Our federal election is on today so I'm off to vote before applying the next coat, though I think watching the paint dry would be more fun!

and the colour does go well with your door frames.

I don't suppose you should mention to OC Home Command that the Merbau colour

could be considered a reasonable match for PC12.

Hi Des - the bi-fold doors come in handy...it's a fairly small house so it's nice to feel a bit of 'extra' space by opening up the back when it's a nice day.
