Bristol M.1C Blue Max 1/48

Hello all
There is now a lot of time (I'm a slow builder) I began to build the Bristol M.1C from Blue Max
I posted some progress in an other forum that seem to be out of activity now. So, please forgive me for all the people who may already saw a part of this wip.
My first concern was about the internal structure. I keep a part of the white metal structure and add some plastic profiles
I scratch some internal parts too (oil and gas tank, plus the amunition box that finaly I don't use, as the deco I would like to realise is for an unarmed aircraft)
Next I decide to open the lateral hatches, and found that the plastic, if trimmed, becamme verry fragile. So I made a new part with brass and copper. For my facility, I cut the wings and recreate a new cockpit roof in a formed copper sheet.
Tiem was comming to add some details and repair to the fuselage. I recreate the ribs with copper wire, put some old photoetch on tail.
I equally recreate the ribs on wings with plastic rods.
It was time to push the details for the cockpit
And try to put everything together
I was not satisfied with my first attempt for the hatches attachements. I made new one with brass sheet and tube soldered together.
I was in pain with the paint of my brass front part (it's still a mystery for me why paint resist on it whereas I can paint the cockpit roof without problem). Finaly before assembling I glued a fine plastic sheet over the brass. From the good point of view it allowed me to catch up on a bit small diameter of my original piece.
For changing I take some moment for the wings, and put a lot of masking tape for realising rib tapes with Surfacer
I go back to brass construction with the realization of the landing gear. I use brass tube and sheet (what a marvelous matter)
cut cut cut
punch punch punch
drill drill drill
Finallyl the landing gear take form with the help of a small wood jig and a small amount of solder.
Thanks for taking the time to read this long post

This kit seems to attract some great builders! Great stuff, Dric.
As for the paint not sticking to the brass -- did you use an etching primer?

Hello Dric:
You are doing a great job here. Your soldering and Brass work is first rate. The added ribbing to the wings and fuselage, again first rate. This is turning out be one outstanding build. Like Bo wrote, this is attracting some great builders.

Thanks a lot for your comments.
@ Bo
I tried various solution after preparing the surface with a fiberglass pen. From Gunze metal primer, to enamel and specific phosphorous primer. Each time the paint remain fragile.
I have now bought a primer as the one used by railroad modellers plus a specific bath for cleaining brass. I will try it next time.
Maybe have you another solution ?
