Bertl, your attention to detail makes me smile - it's very inspirational. Thanks for the description of the process. Absolutely astonishing detail. When I cut corners...I hope you don't see them  ::)
Cheers,
Gary

Here is the rear view mirror on the Albatros D.V.
Vfw Bansmer had a rear view mirror mounted on the front right of the cockpit.
Of course I would like to show this on the model as well.
I used the Wingnut Wings kit part #E39 which was sanded slightly smaller with sandpaper.
I used a 0.4mm brass rod to extend the holding rod.
The mirror insert was punched out of a piece of chrome foil coating of a AAA battery and glued in with Still Water from Vallejo.
Still Water was also used to represent the glass.
The mirror itself was painted dark green on the front and gray-green on the back with RLM02.
Small flakes of paint were painted on the back of the mirror, which points in the direction of flight, with dark gray paint - this was dabbed on with a small sponge.

The mirror is only attached to the model in the pictures, a 0.5mm hole was drilled at the edge of the cockpit for this purpose - the mirror is not yet attached to the model, this will only be done shortly before completion.
