Congratulations on building this - it was the third model which I finished. The kit certainly has warts although you seem to have avoided or removed them from your model. An excellent build and the Camel is also very fine.
Perhaps I should get around to taking some pictures of mine and posting them.

It looks great - also could I ask how this old Aifix kit has held up...? I remember looking at it as a child in NZ my much thumbed airfix catelogue (so we're talking a long time ago....).

cheers

It's beautiful indeed Modelnut...
What about the kit, I was planning to get one.

Ciao

I knew it was an old kit before opening the box.I was impressed how crisp the moldings were. Hardly any flash and minor misalighnment. The gunner figures are well sculpted.Like I said earlier, the biggest prep was sanding theribs.

Hello FF
I mentioned somewhere else in the forum that Windsock International  May/June 2002 (Vol 18/3), conducted a re-assessment of what it called this 'elderly classic', including some newer plans. While positive attributes were noted, significant faults were found with the wings and the tail assembly.

Best wishes
Nigel

Thanks Nigel

If I get the courage to ever tackle this I'll chase up the reference.

There is an article on the Modelling Madness website reviewing this kit: the author used the Datafiles (nos 116 and 121) on the 0/400 but generally found the kit to be a good one. There were one or two small problems but seemingly nothing beyond what an average WW1 modeller could cope with. The model was constructed from an old kit (from the 1970's) so there was no information on how well the moulds have held up for the recent re-release. The ribs were the biggest single issue in this review.

Beautiful Job!

And is that the Revell camel beside it?
