I did this one OOB to try the Aviattic lozenge. I'm sold on it from now on. These are quick pics as it's not rigged yet. I didn't do a WIP as I trashed my last Fokker. I found sprayed future pools on the lozenge as it's hydrophobic, but I brush painted a tinted future wash on as a final coat and it went on fine. These are WNW tapes.

That's bloody good, mate -
It must be the time of the year to take display pictures outside in the garden ................... !
Regards
Dave

Really nice looking DVII~! Beautiful execution on the Lozenge application. The scheme is very attractive to say the least!

A nice build and superb Lozenge on it.

Brilliant work, Dave! She's a beauty.
Cheers,
Bud

What? No comment on the patio and veg tubs? You insensitive BRUTES!
-
Those are some of the greatest veg tubs I have seen, ever. And the decals are pretty nice too
-
I really like the stonework on the patio, Dave! Did you do that yourself?
Cheers,
Bud
-
I really like the stonework on the patio
Me too, but it would deserve a little cleaning. It looks like grass has also grown on your garden table.
Oh and that old blue plane is rather beautiful. Good idea as a garden adornment.
-
Very nicely finished Dave. The lozenge work is really well done, coming from someone whose been immersed in that technique for the past 3-4 days! I too am impressed with your "veggie tubs", mine are full of snow presently, but the temperature's going up and I should be able to see them soon.........! :o
A very eye catching scheme done really well, congratulations!
Cheers,
Lance

It's weathered.

Splendid build Dave. Nice scheme and lozenge excellent. Well weathered patio too. Congratulations Dave!
Kind regards
Patrick

Excellent model with a really good finish. Are you intending to leave it outside to weather in the same way as the patio?
-
Lovely Fokker and I like your base too. How did you make the base?
-
I'm finally rigging the damn thing. Stand by for action!
-
Great work on the stonework mate, the fence is so nicely weathered - it almost looks like a real deal, the best part of your installation though are those pots with plants - flowers are soooo realistic. Great job mate! I can only dream to see you building a garden shed ;) ;)
PS. Great looking D.VII - i really like this scheme. I think the Aviattic lozenges look great! The only thing I would add to your model is some more weathering around the engine area.
Congratulations - she`s an eyecatcher!
-
Your Fokker looks realy cool. Great work. The Aviattic decals look very good. I think i will order a set of them if they are available in 1/72.
-
I agree.

They are. The lower wing lozenges look a bit "flashy" IMO, but the upperside ones look good.
The polish company Mirage has also released lozenge sheets. At the moment, only at 1/48 scale, but the colors look rather well-balanced.

Finally got it rigged!

Great build but to my eyes it looks like you might still be missing a bit of rigging between the cabane struts (from fuselage to upper wing).
-
Beautiful job, Dave, and your photography is excellent.
Cheers,
Bud
-
Thanks everyone.
A couple on the bench to finish off, then another GB Fokker in Pheons new Jasta 30 decals.
-
Very nice job, Dave. I will be happy if the D.VII F on my bench comes out as nicely as yours!
Chris
-
Great job, Dave! The lozenge is super and compliments your excellent
paint work. Thanks for sharing your talents. :D
Cheers,
Ernie :)

Very nice, one of my favorite schemes.

Very nice. Excellent!

Thanks Patrick. Just coming to the end of a WNW Roland DVIa.
-
I think the tubs look *ok*, but the stone work is nice. You really need to consider watering the grass under that airplane tho'.
(Seriously, beautiful job. I'd like to know, so I don't do it, what happened when spraying Future over the decals.)
Warren
-
The future needs misting on lightly. It's aqueous whereas the decals have a slightly waxy Matt finish, so if you go on heavy it forms droplets rather than a smooth finish. Fine if it's misted and fine with the alclad klear gloss too.
-
Thanks, I've had friends who've had it bead up before, didn't know that's what you were describing.
