This lovely kit is finished. There's a few glitches in the build (which I've cleverly disguised with the photos) but I did rush this somewhat. Any issues are entirely mine, the kit engineering is superb.
The finish is based as much as possible on photos, which show the doped finish was not translucent, so no "showthrough" of any interior detail. But having that cream finish over all the aircraft made painting challenging, because any scuffs or dust were really visible. And those rib tapes.... :o

Thanks very much for the feedback everyone, this one did turn out better than I expected. I had some challenges with the paint job along the way (especially those rib tapes).

Rick, you definitely should build this one. It's a dream of a kit.
I particularly like your subtle weathering!
Thanks Kreston. I think we have a similar mi9ndset regarding weathering.... :)

Don't look too close, you'll see the booboos!

Borsos, this is a great kit to use some modelling time on, especially if you don't have much time available.

YET AGAIN you've put together a masterpiece. Well done Nigel.

Your CSM N11 is wonderful and I like the weathered fabric look too.
I'm about to start my take on this kit and your one has been great inspiration.

Really nicely done - I do not see any glitches from here - great choice of scheme and you have pulled it off nice!
-
Fabulous work Nigel - saw it sitting next to David Lane's in the photos from the Bovington show today. I really like the scheme you picked, and your subtle weathering touches ;)
Cheers,
Gary

Thanks very much Alan, Rafael, Vickers, Dave, Patrick, Gary and Przemo, I really appreciate your comments.

Yes, they looked good together and drew quite a lot of attention - David and I were doing our best sales job for CSM!

Ad my compliments to all the above !

This is a gorgeous build Nigel! Beautiful work and I'm particularly fond of the weathering.

Dang, Nigel! Put's mine to shame. I really like the oil and dirt too. Looks like castor oil for sure. I'm trying to finish my gun set up. Where on earth does the trigger cable actually go in the cockpit? I have not been able to figure that out...
Lovely finish. Congrats!

Thanks very nuch guys!
Where on earth does the trigger cable actually go in the cockpit? I have not been able to figure that out...
As to where it goes inside the cockpit, I have no idea. There must be a trigger somewhere (on top of the control column?) and somehow it must link to that. But I didn't bother with that as it can't be seen.....
As for the external route, from what I can make out from photos the cable appears to pass into the cockpit via the right rear cabane strut, so I attached mine to the back of that.

I may have got it completely wrong, but I thought the trigger cable was just anchored at somewhere acording to pilot preference near the cockpit end and pulling slack of the cable operated the trigger directly :-\

Hi Nigel,
That's a great looking Noop.
Looks good on the SIG displays,

I forgot we already had a good discussion of this here: https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=10091.0
Looks like it could just hang loose in the cockpit (seems dangerous to me, but then flying these things was inherently so.....)
That's a great looking Noop.
Looks good on the SIG displays,
Thanks Mike, it was nice having two of them side by side at Bovington. We were encouraging people to get the kit!

I love everything about this one Nigel, a thing of beauty, sir!
Keep them coming!

Thanks Brad! Sadly there won't be any aircraft coming along for a few months as I am currently working on a diorama project which will keep me busy for at least a couple of months......

Don't mean to hijack...but thanks for all the input about the cable. What a great group of people.
Course, it helps that it all started with a beautiful model, Nigel!
