Here is my rendition of the Albatros Richthofen was flying when he was brought down on July 6th, 1917.
I used the early release from Eduard and made many improvements to the kit. I made a slightly bigger
160 hp Mercedes D III, added the fuel and oil tanks, corrected the landing gear struts, used Barracuda Cast
wheels and some photo-etch from Tom's Modelworks.
This project was a great learning experience for me through the amount of research I did on the Albatros D. V. Also, testing myself with new modeling
techniques. I'd like to thank everyone for their feed back during construction and also the build logs people make. Sharing methods with others are a
great part of this web site. I will need to put my tools down for the next couple of months as my wife and I sell our current home and move to a new place.
