Not enough weeks in the year for that level of modelling, Steve!
Just build it, enjoy it and love it!

One more Nut in the collection  ;)

I'll borrow von Albie's photo; I found the same one under the tree on the 25th along with a DH2 and DH9. The word appears to be out in the Family, "no more ties or socks for the wise old elder"! :)
Cheers,
Lance

You are correct, Sir.

Being retired, ties are only for weddings and funerals, and my age, the latter happens more often than the former.......... :P

Even though I've barely gotten a start on my first build, I have the WNW Alby D.V and Roden Dr.I waiting in the wings. I also feel an order brewing after the first of the year for at least one more WNW  :P

Aroth,
You are so correct in that! I did two weddings this year and zero funerals so it's been a good one (and I used the same tie for both!!)
Cheers, ;)

My Christmas WNW arrived just yesterday... The Gotha G.IV!  My brother got it for me.  It was ordered back on the 12th, but sat in NZ for 6 days after being posted. I'm not complaining though :).  Now I'll be Googling like crazy to find all the bells and whistles for it.  I've already decided to get Rowan's decal set, since I quite fancy the herringbone scheme.

This brings my WNW stash to 4 - Fokker E.III, Albatros D.Va, Hansa-Brandenburg W.29, and now the Gotha.  Maybe I should build one of them one of these days!  :o

Hi Peter,

I have the Gotha myself and I still drool over it and fondle the plastic on occasion. It's such a beautiful kit. I'm hoping in the near future to order a set of props from Doug as they will just add to an already beautiful kit. The only other WNW kit I have is the Rumpler C.IV Early.

Hello all

Well the stash builds up for the glorious day when I move on from 1/48 to the WnW collection!

Christmas saw the arrival of the Fokker D.VIIF and it is now hangered safely with an SE.5a; a Bristol F.2b; an RE.8; an RFC Pup; a Sopwith Triplane; an AMC DH.2; and a Gotha G..IV . The question will be where to start?

Best wishes
Nigel

The beginning, of course  ;)

Are yes, sound advice, but when I'm writing stuff for my students, I often find that the last thing I write is the Introduction, on the basis that I don't always quite know what I'm introducing until I've actually written the whole thing!

Hello Nigel:

Ahhhhhh, where to start?  I'd start with the Pup.  A nice intro to 1/32nd, a straightforward build and a neat model to boot.  We modelers need a good rigging reference for the Gotha!

Best

I have just collected my Christmas gifts!

DH.9 came here on December 31st, with customs toll  - I had to pay the ransom of 70 PLN, about 17 EUR for the release. Salmson followed and came today, this time the customs seemed to overlook it. Honestly speaking, I have no clue, how they choose the parcels to the toll?
Anyway, I am extremely glad! Now I can start planning my model building for the coming months. I am sure, that both of them will finish in Polish markings.

I was getting a bit tired of running to the hardware shop everytime I made a spoked wheel and needed a tyre, and in most cases they didn't have the size I required, so I purchased a set of O Rings off ebay. The set comprises 419 O rings of various sizes, cost - $23 post free.

A little something my bride found for me. :D

Not the standards of WnW, but for under $20 who's complaining. ;)

Cheers,
Ernie :)
