That's a definite labour of love and it really is going to look like the real thing. Lovely work.

Hi all
The basic decals for the structure and rib tapes has been applied
The top surface tapes are 'Xtradecal' parallel white stripes (XPS2) decals.
The underside tapes are cut from 'Aviattic' Off White on Linen (ATT32241) decal
These were all 'faded' back with a light airbrushed coat of ‘MRP’ Clear Doped Linen (MRP-256)
The kit supplied roundels were then applied
The surfaces still need to be weathered slightly

That's looking really good Mike, the fabric treatment is really effective and realistic looking. I really like your use of the Aviattic decals for rib tapes, that was something I had in mind to do, especially now Richard has the white-backed decals in stock again.

Looking good there Mike.

Really enjoying this thread even if I don't pop up every couple of posts - I'm sure, like a lot of us, I find the techniques, pictures and clear explanations both helpful and inspiring :)

The canvas look tremendous, great job and thanks for sharing this inspirative technique, I have to try it out on one of my future builds. ;)

Cheers.

Hi all,
I've now completed detail painting and decals etc.
Also all structural pre-rigging has been added as well as the elevator and rudder control cables.
Ready now to fit the upper wing,

Mike

Just amazing paint and finish already! The plane looks stunning in these "delicate" colors!

I absolutely have to build my own at some point!  ;D
