PZL P.7a (1/72, Arma Hobby) - a small side-project
« on: December 03, 2018, 06:15:23 PM »
In inevitable technological breaks while building larger and more-WW1 models I spared some time to build this little one. It is one of several Polish PZL P.7as which despite being obsolete did their best to resist, together with slightly better P.11cs, the overwhelming air-power of Germany in September 1939. This one was flown by Ltn Erwin Kawnik in 123 Fighter Squadron in Cracow.
The kit is the very recommendable Arma Hobby product.

Thank you Marc. And I do wish you finding some time to build yours. As well as  those great WNW kits you have just got!

Thanks Prez for drawing our attention to these excellent kits! The Soon to be released Hurricane looks a peach! Your P11 and 7 are brilliant! Bravo!

Thank you Thumbs up. And yes, I am sure Th forthcoming Hurricane model will be a winner. Not my piece of cake, though. I will wait for their next release.

superb build!

i'm going to have to order a P.7 (and a P.11, among other things, 'cause i have that Skalski decal set)....

i also ordered 6 Hurricane overtrees, and look forward to seeing one of their kits 'in real' soon. i'll be ordering more...

anyone used the Hataka paints? early reviews were unflattering but newer ones say they're good.

Thank you, Jeff.
There are two or three ranges of Hataka paints. I have specifically bought colors from the Orange line for this build and the subsequent P. 11. And they are highly recommendable. Not acrylic ones, though.

infatuated with this little bird. NEED one. current boxing has a training squadron crate that allegedly was Urbanowicz'. Przemol, do you (or anyone) know if it's true? i want to build that one.

i'm pretty keen on PZL aircraft in general... gotta do the Silver Wings PZL 11 as one of Skalski's... and some small ones... and a Greek P.24 (probably Mitralexis). unfortunately it's highly unlikely i can build them to your standard...

thanks for the tip on Hataka by the way. i may experiment on my 'paint mules' with the acrylic; it may be a premature-drying issue and Copper State have made my Academy Nieuports into paint mules....

Great plans, Jeff. Looking forward to seeing your builds.
As for the Urbanowicz aircraft, it is only a superposition however founded on some good evidence. Arma Hobby, besides producing fine user-friendly kits. is also praised for the quality of their research. It is a group of passionate guys who try to prepare their colour proposals as well as possible. So you can quite well rely on their supposition. Urbanowicz was very probaly piloting that "7a".

Lovely, Przemo!  I've been tempted to do this one in 1/48 scale.  Maybe someday.
Cheers,
Bud
