Hi all...

So have several other downloaded kits that I think I want to practice on/tackle before I get into the Halberstadt or Friedrichschaffen.  Those kits look mighty impressive and rather scary!  :o ;D

So these are two I'm thinking of starting after I finish my WNW Dolphin.

One word of caution if you want to try these...especially the downloadable versions!  I was looking at my finished D.1 last night
and I really love it...but it looks a tad small to me when I put it next to my Albatros D-I, Snipe etc.  Even though it's 1/33rd and not 32nd, it still seemed small.  Sure enough, when I measured the wingspan and looked at what the real machine was, I'm about 1.5 inches shy!  Bummer but no worthy of chucking it.  So my advice would be to play with drafts of your printing until you get the correct span from a down load.  In the case of the Pfalz, the designer has a handy scale on the plan and it saved my bacon.  I ended up printing it on A4 paper at 109% to get it correct.

So just an FYI for all you aspiring paper card modelers out there...Cheers,
Dan

I am a sucker for the flowing lines of the Pfalz, having build a few 1/48 Eduard versions (and bought a new dual set the other day) and the WnW version, so that gets my vote!!
good luck anyway, those paper planes look amazing!

Well...it's official.  I started getting the Pfalz started by cutting out the pieces needing strength and contact-cementing them to some 1/32nd balsa.

I'll start a new thread soon!  Watch this space...

Sorry for the incredibly late reply, Gene.   :-[

The Pfalz turned out great (I think  ::))

Look for it in finished construction.

And just for kicks, here is a tiny link to the "motor" running! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpAO-Iv06I4

Missed this somehow, great work!
But next time you should overpaint the artificial horizon because this instrument is much younger ;)
The first one was invented 1929: https://pioneersofflight.si.edu/content/sperry-artificial-horizon

Thanks, Bug!  And for setting me straight. I'll make sure to paint that out next time!
