I decided to make the cargo box tarp frame, it is made from 0.9mm steel wire bent to shape the glued to the sides, the two side pieces and the top piece are made from styrene strips CA'd in place.

Hi Des,

great model and great execution! I like it especially before the paint :) Not that I don't like the paint, just the details are really visible without paint.

Best regards,
Sasho

Thanks guys for all your much appreciated comments but I have some sad news, the model took a dive and due the the resin being extremely brittle far too much damage was sustained to warrant any attempts at repairs. I noticed during the build of this model that the resin broke extremely easily, the slightest touch caused parts to break off, the resin appeared to be a little powdery where a break occured and CA had difficulty holding the broken parts. I had been told that resin kits are a hit and miss proposition so in future I will be very cautious when purchasing any further resin kits.

I lifted the model by placing finger and thumb of my right hand on either side of the cargo box but it slipped from my grip, as a automatic reaction my left hand immediately went to grab the model to save it hitting the floor but I grabbed the two front mudguards (fenders) which instantly broke off allowing the model to drop onto the floor. Being very brittle resin it shattered and spread itself over the floor, way too many pieces to attempt any sort of repair, just another lesson learnt.

Really sorry to hear that this beauty was destroyed! As it has happened to me a couple of times I know the feeling! Although it will not be in the display case at least you have the photos to show your outstanding job on this one.

My condolences Des, too young to die in such a fashion.   She was quite a beauty.   :-\
