Seeking colour scheme info for a weird Pfalz DXII
« on: April 30, 2018, 03:34:56 PM »
I managed the nigh impossible task of ruining a really nice Wingnut Wings Pfalz DXII build. The fuselage went together well but it all turned to toast with the wing/ fuselage join. My fault, not Wingnuts'. Result: One Pfalz shelved.

Today I saw this whimsical photo on Facebook:

A little light went on! Why not adapt the Pfalz fuselage into this Steampunk-like creation? The caption said it was a Jasta 43 machine.

Does anyone know what the fuselage colours might be? Or have any other images of this or similar contraptions? Maybe the Pfalz model can be saved after all?

It's number 10 on the Pheon sheet Dave.

Hi Dave!
Great to hear, someone else tries to mistread a WNW-Kit.
Found on the WNW-customer models category this:

Excellent! Many thanks Brez, Red Baron and Manni. I didn't realise someone had already done that diorama but looking at the photo it does seem to be a single colour rather than the multi coloured Wingnuts page customer image. Nice to see much of the research is readily available!

g'day Dave.

There is another nice view of Phillip Ware's model in the GWSIG magazine vol 3 - issue 4, page 15.

Fwiw, on my monitor the fuselage in your photo appears to be multi coloured, though fairly washed out.

cheers  :)
