Hi Lance, just wondering if you had managed to sell the remains of your stash? If not would you be willing to ship the lot or a large part of it to the UK if the price was right?
Best Regards
David

Hi, Lance,

Please advise if you still have the Eagle Strike lozenge and rib tape decals available.  8)

My Stash, with the exception of 3 or 4 very common and not great Kits and some PE and Decals has been purchased by one of our fellow Members. I still have some OOP Decals in 1:48 Scale by Aeromaster and Superscale for example. Anyone interested in Type specific markings for 1:48 subjects or Eduard PE Sets can check out my 23 Feb Post here and PM me if interested.
Now it's the challenge of keeping my 1:32 Stash in perspective................(already failing I'm afraid!)
Cheers,
Lance :) :)

OK, lesson for the day: Stash Math 101.  ::)

Number of years expected to continue modelling X 4 (average number of builds per year) = maximum allowed number of kits in the stash.

So, e.g.: current age 68, expect to build to age 82, number of building years = 14.
14 X 4 = 56 (max number of kits allowed in stash in 2013).

These are actually my numbers, and I have 51 really nice kits in the stash right now, including partial builds (yeah, the Biff is going to get done eventually! ;D) But I'm sidetracked with a small build for a friend, due in September, so I'm less ahead of the power curve than it looks. So I have to revisit the numbers annually to keep perspective. I may go beyond 82, but 82 is a realistic assessment. At one point I had slightly plus of 400 kits. At four builds per year, just how long would it take to build these? Right!  ;)

Cheers!
Gary

Thank You Gary my good Buddy. My only concern with the "Trackpad Formula" for Stash management is the 4 X Builds per year. Once I fully retire next month I may achieve that number however I seem notoriously slow at it; AMS is a terrible affliction in many ways as I tend to bog down or wander off down various "Bunny Trails" far too often.
At my projected rate I'll need to Model to the tender age of 97! On the other hand it could be much worse..............just think how boring the Golden Years would be without this wonderful Hobby.
Your work for others is commendable as I happen to know this is not the first time and I suspect won't be the last. My Kids have been suggesting that, once I'm retired and have lots of spare time, I should build them a desk Model of one or some of the jets I flew "way back when", I tell them they can fight over mine when they commit me to the "Home"!!
Stash on Good Brother, we've got lots of time left!
Cheers,
Lance :) ::) 8)

i am 44 and average 5 to 6 completions( i also do a bit of dabbling into armor) i am now approaching the 500 mark for kits in the stash. i cant stop. i see something i like and i buy it. i get on ebay and go toe to toe with  some bozo( most likely one of you guys) and i get irritated when i loose.i got 5 kits this week. not typical but theres been some cool stuff for sale, at least there was last week. its slim pickins right now. my question is if i get 4 new kits a month(average) how long do i have to live to put a dent in the stash? just kidding. but you really can always sell some later if you want right? i wish i could concentrate on  1 or 2 builds at a time like some guys i just cant. it still all so magical to me. i get a wild hair on this kit or that and i fool with it for a week or 2 then i get bored and excited on something else. i cant help it.

I'm similar. I buy too much, but I seldom regret it. If something a bit harder to find comes up I tend to buy it lest I not get another chance. As you say, you can always sell a few off if you want to.

FWIW, that's pretty much what happened with me. I once had over 400 kits in the cache, having bought most of them while in Germany in the '80's. 1/4 the price you'd pay in North America? No Brainer! But it became evident to me that, as time went on, I simply would not be able to build all of them. So I focused on about 50 - 60 and did as you say: traded and sold off the others for enough cash to keep me in "expendables" (glue, paint, decals and so on, plus the odd tool now and then) to build my personal "cream of the crop" cache: Wingnuts, Tamiyas, Hasegawas, Revells, etc. The last into the barn was the WNW Snipe. Since then, I've had no inclination to buy much of anything kitwise because, to me, the current stable of offerings doesn't come up to the mark. I'm pretty much over the wall I hit with the Biff, so that, plus a Sherman Firefly (sorry!), are both slated for the work bench once I get my friend's aircraft carrier sorted out (probably about two or three weeks max). I'm feeling quite comfortable with this hobby!  8)
Cheers!

Its a hobby - if you like it and want it (AND still pay all your bills) buy it!! We dont really need to justify our pleasures. We like to have options. When philatelists have too many stamps what do they do - write letters and postcards!!? ;D
