Hi from a long time lurker in the UK
« on: April 27, 2018, 02:13:46 AM »
I thought I'd better say a formal "hello" as I have been lurking here for several years but since I recently retired I plan to spend more time model making and also getting active on this site.

I'm Nigel Rayner and may be known to some of you on the site as I have recently taken over as leader of the IPMS Great War SIG. I model WWI aircraft in 1/32 and 1/72 but also do figures, tanks and artillery. I've been making models on and off for most of my 60 years.

This is a fantastic site, I've found all of Des' build logs to be hugely useful. He will be sadly missed. It's good to see that the site will stay up and that the forum will continue as well.

Cheers,
Lance

Welcome Nigel. It's great to see you here on the boards. Huge thanks for the invaluable work the IPMS Great War SIG does for us with your world class newsletter that is better than most commercial hobby magazines.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'll post some pics of recent work in the next few days. I have several part built 1/32 kits that I need to get moving on, including Voss' FI. I may even open up that old can of worms again..... ;)

Welcome aboard, Nigel!  It's about time you joined us.  You'll find quite a few SIG members and listees here.  I look forward to seeing what projects you've got in the works.
Cheers,
Bud

Hi Nigel, I spoke to your compadre, Steve Cox, at the Scottish Nationals in Perth, this afternoon and asked him to pass on my best regards. Thanks too for the link to the Cher Ami catalogue - superb mag.

Steve was displaying some of his 1/600 scale wwi aeroplane models. 1/600!!!!!!!! My brain still doesn't accept what my eyes were seeing!

Cheers from Scotland
