After a long break, my little Camel is back on the workbench and it is time to start my least favourite part of the build - rigging and assembly.

To overcome the fear I bought two new tools - a mini holder with rotatable head (a nice surplus is it also features a PE bender) and a hand stabilizer - that is the ball with the stick on the photo.

Yesterday I made first experiments and both tools seem to be very helpful.

Cheers

Ondra

Beautiful work Ondra, as usual... I can't imagine how that "hand stabilizer" works...

I would like to purchase the mini holder... where is it possible to find it? How is it called exactly to look for it in the web?

Thanks

Antonio

Hi Antonio!

I got the mini holder from Aliexpress for about 40 bucks incl. shipping, it is called "precision bench vise".

The hand stabilizer is a very simple but genial tool - you hold the stick between your middle finger and ring finger and the tool provides slight counterweight and friction - thus your hand is much more stable. I was a bit suspicious first, but I have to say it works like a wonder.

Cheers

Great to see you back on this one Ondra! The tools look interesting although I think it would take about a 50lb. weight to stabilize my hands  ::)

Good to see you back Ondra. Those tools look far too expensive and difficult to use for me!

Stephen.

Getting my little Camel ready for rigging, I set up this little rigging factory. :)

For single rigging I use elastic monofilament by Uschi van der Rosten which I glue to a piece of copper wire painted black with a sharpie.

For double rigging I glue the monofilament to a piece of 0,4 mm lead wire - I hope the photos tell the story.
