May be you are right, good point!

One confirmation is the technical point of view. There is no way inside to control it, because of the radiator. So even the thin pipes of the sync gear of the Vickers-MG running around the radiator and run into the fuselage just behind it. So it seems plausible.

And on the Windsock Datafile vol 2 there is on page 15 a picture showing the wires and lever very similar, even if the shutter itself is a different type.
Many pictures showing earlier F.2 wihtout a shutter at all, but if with shutter, I think it needs to be controllable.

At first I got a Bronze medal - for the SE.5a "Night Fighter" and ...
finally this damn Crocodile reached GOLD! And I got some very nice words from the jury afterwards.
So this model takes a huge effort, but it finally I'm totally happy with the result - the model itself and the result of the contest.

I hope I can create a entry in the completed section with the final pictures next week.
