Sopwith Schneider Camo
« on: March 01, 2018, 06:33:22 PM »
Hello,
Trying to model the "old dog" 1:72 Eduard Sopwith Schneider/Baby,  I saw on Windsock devoted to the aircraft a picture of No. 1557 (an early Schneider) which is supposed  to be painted with "patches of blue and grey" on upper side of wings and air frame. Internet also provides another examples on Kingston webpage: (See May dates, 1577 Schneider in HMS Undaunted):
https://www.kingstonaviation.org/100-years-ago/1915.html

I would like to know if there is a more concrete reference on  british seaplane early camouflage patterns and colors.
Thanks in advance,
Santiago Martin

Well...

Firstly, I doubt that there is. Datafiles are pretty good

Secondly, if there is - you won't find it until after you've finished the model

There weren't a lot of Schneiders, even fewer with that camouflage so the chances of there being more photos are pretty low

It's an attractive idea for a scheme - go for it!
