injection flow lines
« on: January 29, 2018, 03:46:20 PM »
At the moment I am working on something not WW1, an Airfix Spitfire Mk.XIX in 1/48 scale.
Yesterday I put on the basic PRU blue color and it revieled massive distortions in plastic that were not visible on the naked plastic.

I can only asume that they are massive injection flow lines, as the paintjob itself went on perfect (MRP paint, so no problem there).
Does anybody has an idea how to get rid of them, I am thinking about a layer of primer which I did not use and than a hefty round of sanding.

From the photo, they do look like flow marks. I suggest a coat of primer should seal them right up.
