Avis 1/32nd scale Fokker EV Jasta 6. Finished... Well for now...
« on: November 21, 2017, 01:38:33 AM »
I still have a few things I will eventually improve on but this one is going in the case now. All of the Major work is done. Like Lance said this one will never grace a contest table. The kit is really fairly nice with the exception of the gear and wing struts. The Pheon Jig included with their decals make this a lot easier process. Lance chose to go with tubing while I went with modified plastic struts for the wings. In the end mine is very sturdy. One of the "Things" I intend to go back and redo is the prop. At any rate I appreciate all of the Support and encouragement during the build:

Having followed this build and your travails, I can only comment that it looks very good to me and certainly good enough for a competition table if you wanted too. You can probably see the flaws that the rest of us cannot, (how many of us does that apply to?), I for one think that the propellor looks fine but you must be the final judge. A very fine model in every way.

Stephen.

You must have photographed only the good sides of the model and/or photoshoped all the flaws because I cannot see any faults on this one. Very nice model and a joy to follow.

Congratulations on finishing this one Rick, and on a very nice Model! It was a lot of fun comparing notes and ideas with you as I struggled through it as well, and it helped immensely that I was not alone in my frustration with some of it's challenges at times. You've done a great job on it, not an easy task given the Kit's limitations.
Cheers,
Lance

A nice crisp build. The Pheon decals really help an otherwise rather bland looking aircraft.

Excellent EV Rick!

Very effective streaking, lozenge work and very well done strut "fixes".

Yours and Lance's models certainly complement each other, especially with the different wing camo.

I think both models would make great "Cover Girls' for Avis's product!  :)

Thanks Toby. The Pheon decals are great as always. I kind of like the EV, not bland to my eye  8)

PS: I noticed a smudge of grey green pant on the personal marking fuselage band when viewing the photos. I immediately cleaned the offending paint off and all is well now!

Super build.  Realistic detail. Eye-catching color scheme.

I like it.
