Morane-Saulnier type L, Eduard 1/48
« on: June 11, 2017, 07:57:23 AM »
Hello,
here is my Morane-Saulnier type L in 1/48. It was build from the very old Eduard kit of the last century.
The kit contains many PE parts, which I soldered as far as possible and used also solder to increase the thickness of the PE struts. The white metal engines of the kit are not used. I built my first engine of Small Stuff for this model. The rigging is done with Gaspatch turnbuckles and fishing line.
The paints are Gunze, Alclad and oils. Due to the age of the kit the decal were mostly unusable, so I had to reprint the black ones and decided to paint the cockades.
Far later, after I started to make wooden airscrews, I replaced the plastic prop this model too.

This is a interesting aircraft and still the favorite of my wife of my collection. It was the second model I made in 1/48.
Have fun now with the pictures!
Frank

Beautiful job on a rather crude kit!
Cheers,

A gorgeous looking model Frank, the paint work and the rigging are superb and you did a great job printing the black decals, another one of your beautiful models.

As others have written, this is a strikingly beautiful model. I especially like the extra metal parts that you add to your models - they are so good.

Having owned this kit and passed on building it I can honestly say you have achieved stunning results on a very old and crude kit!
