I've got a couple of sets of the Mirage 'sworl' camouflage that need to go on something. Thanks for the heads up on the brittleness.

Jamie

edited because my computer's spellcheck caught a spelling mistake in Mirage and decided that I really meant marriage. I absolutely refuse to marry a decal sheet; well I might consider one of those Aviattic sheets.

That swirl camouflage looks very nice indeed. I would like to try it at 1/72 and I know that there are sheets on the market but I have never applied transfers over large areas and wonder what kind of mess I would make if I did. Yours makes me think that I ought to try….

Stephen, it is not that difficult to decal large areas. Give it a try.

 Bud,
Outstanding progress to date my old friend. I've always liked the Oeffag D.III far more than the Albatros D.III mainly because of those wonderful camouflage schemes. Fantastic painting of the camo pattern on her fuselage and equally impressive work one the wing decal too. Keep up the highest excellence.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette

Thanks for you kind comments, about the model and Bo.  Lance, Thor looks like he could be Bo's dad.  He's a beauty.
Finally beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel.  Got the rigging completed, now all that's left are the undercarriage, the prop and lots of touch up, most of which is necessary due to my overall oafishness.

Got to press on so I can clear my bench for the CSM FK.8, WNW Camels and the Eduard SE5a.
Cheers,
Bud

Still, looking fabulous! Somehow I always have to touch things up as well... be it paint or decals chipped or worn off, CA stains... can't seem to build a model without that!
Look forward to the final result.

Have missed this recently - I am staggered by that camouflage - it is fantastic. Come to that the rest of the build is pretty good too - well up to your usual very high standard. Looking forward to seeing this one finished.

Stephen.

What a stunning build and a great choice of markings.

A great thread and a stunning result on this one, Bud! I do love that very unusual camo scheme - and a favourite subject for me! Regards, Marc
