BG Mitchell's SPAD XVI at NASM
« on: July 07, 2012, 12:11:27 PM »
Was stuck in Dulles on a long layover earlier this year so I went to the Udvar-Hazey annex down the road.  Pretty good museum.  Not nearly as crowded as the main Smithsonian bldgs.  Of the WWI subjects, I thought BGen Mitchell's SPAD XVI was the most interesting.  Please pardon the poor quality pics.  The only camera I had on me at the time was on my phone.

The stupid shall be punished.

   Ryan,
Thank you for sharing these excellent reference photos with us my friend. All I need now is a 1/48th scale or better yet a 1/32 scale kit of a SPAD XVI.What the heck I'd settle for a SPAD XI as well.
Highest Regards,

i have some drawings for the spad xi a2 which is very similar to this craft except the engine. i was thinking of a scratch down the line cuz its just so neat to have a 2 seater spad.
