Thanks Rick for your very kind comments.

The truck is nearly finished, it still needs an overall coat of satin clear. I made and added the running boards, these are not a kit supplied item but I think they give the model a bit of character, they were copied from original photos. I also added all the bolts to the cargo box sides and tail gate. I still need to add ropes and some bed rolls, no decals were supplied with the kit so I am contemplating making my own, but then I may not. As you can see the wheels are still shiny and need dulling off, this will happen when the clear is applied.

I finished this model today, overall it was quite a good kit for a limited run resin kit. The resin was easy to work and all parts fitted well, detail was quite good but I did have to add a bit to the instrument panel.

Hello Des, very nice build.
But...in my opinion the truck is a bit too clean. Maybe that is your intension to show a new truck, then it is very good with the subtile weathering.
But when your intension was to build a working truck, you should think to
-add some scratches on the flatbed to show some wood
_add some earth pigments on the flatbed
- show some metal at the flatbed locking hinges
- some metal and dirt at the footboard in and outside of the truck
- drybrush the edges of the parts just a little bit.
- add some pigments on the wheels
- add some bare steel and rust pigments at the hitch
- add some shadings to the canvas
- paint some oilslike paynes grey or burned umbra into the edges and fade them with a Q-tip or a dry brush into the inner center of the part.

I hope I you understand this points not as ill-bred or arrogant I just want to point out some things that could help to make this great build even more attactive.

Each to his own Manni, I always have and always will build my models as new machines regardless if they are aeroplanes, trucks, tanks or artillery. I like the new look and as time has proven everything was new at some stage. I really admire modelers who can achieve the perfect weathered look but is an extremely difficult thing to do, I have seen many an excellent model ruined by over weathering or poorly applied weathering. I am too old to change my ways so when you look at my models expect to see a clean machine, it's the way I like it.

Beautifully "clean" model Des! I agree with you, the Builder can choose his presentation from across the spectrum from new off the production line to weathered to the point of entering the scrap yard! Like Manni, I prefer the worn and well weathered look however the skills of a really good "clean" modeller are hard to beat! Nicely done! :)
Cheers,
Lance
