Weta Workshop
« on: June 19, 2016, 05:32:57 PM »
I've just had a look at the Weta site to see if anything relevant to WNW has appeared as yet.
If you choose the Newsletter option, one of the tickboxes is for Modelling and Wingnut Wings. Some here might wish to sign up for news direct from Weta.
Please don't blame me though if your inbox is filled with crap about Orcs and Elves!

Of course if WNW ever does a SPAD XIII or Nieuport 28 one of the decal options will have to be the 94th Aero Squadron.  Think about it.  ;)

Smaugilicious!

In true WnW tradition there will be 'early' & 'late' Smaug versions of course

One of the worst aspects about living in NZ - eternal crap/boasting/propaganda/marketing about LOTR and th'Hobbit ;). They think they own Tolkien now. I feel quite proud that I've never watched any of this over-rated drivel.
WETA are wasting their talents.

Cheers

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is as good as it gets.  The hobbit, not so much.  The the first three are really great....just wanted to set the record straight

I totally love The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I love the books even more, but there is only so much you can do in celluloid.

My avatar and the motto and the signature tell it all. I would never call Tolkien related things a crap. I am totally in awe of the world he created. Besides, visiting NZ was always my dream, long before PJ showed your beautiful country as background for his movies. Since that time the dream is much more thrilling. Some time, hopefully. And I will surely arrange the time so that I will have a chance to see some of WW1 flyings marvels you have down there...

.......And if Gandalf can just summon a giant eagle to escape and fly home why didn't he just do that in the first place and fly straight to the mountain? Would've saved nearly three movies worth of traipsing around in the wilderness.

The book does explain why he can use the Eagles at that point & not otherwise.

Actually he told them all "FLY YOU FOOLS" not his fault they were a bunch of idiots and thought he meant 'run away'

Because, Gandalf could not possess the ring. Through him the power would be too great!! It would of consumed him. The Lord of the Eagles (Gwaihir) knew this fact in advance, hence the lastminute.com saving of the day!! YAY!!

The Lord of the Eyelet  :D
