Thanks for your encouraging comments Borsos, they are very much appreciated. I have the AeroClub Biplane Assembly Jig as well and have never needed it for a Wingnuts kit, for others it is almost always required. This "Third Hand" gadget appears to be the perfect tool for rigging, it's very flexible and once the model is properly mounted virtually any position can be set in seconds, I think it's going to be a real addition to the bag of tricks!
Cheers,
Lance

The machine guns and exhaust look fantastic Lance, and I agree with you about the 1:48 scale Gaspatch turnbuckles, this is a very attractive looking model.

Continuing excellent work, Lance!  The exhaust looks terrific and the turnbuckles look
just right.  What a great looking model this is, my friend!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

I used the 1:48 ones as I believe the 1:32 versions are over scaled.

So do i.

Hi Lance.

I have it on very good authority that the lightening flash on the original wasn't quite centered on the fuselage spine either.  ;)

Therefore your model is the most authentic yet.

And it's bloody marvelous!   :)

Des, Ernie, Thank you both!
Stefan, I think most if not all of our members have the same assessment of the scale issue.
Boggie, I like your "source" info on the flash; love it when a plan comes together........... brilliant and very supportive perspective, Thanks! :) ;)
Cheers,
Lance

Not posted much here recently Lance, but I have been keeping an eye - and what a project to keep an eye on!! This is a stunning and no mistake. Just how you can paint plastic to look like so many other surfaces is beyond me. Progress may be slow in your eyes, but the time and patience is certainly paying dividends, and the result will be worth the wait.

Stephen.

Great work Lance - and nice to see a fresh update! On my model, the lip at the bottom of the radiator (on the kit it's part of that lower cowling) was painted the same as the metal of the radiator - I had to re-do it after studying photos. Maybe double check any pics of your plane as this detail could be different on various arircraft?

Gary

Gary,
Nice catch, that detail went right by me! I can't find any clear photo showing it different then what you say, the "lip" is part of the radiator, not the chin cowling so I'll be repainting it as well. Surprising Wingnut Wings would mold it to the cowling rather then the Radiator but it's an easy fix. Thanks for the "heads up"!

Lance

Thanks Steve. Progress is very slow at present, some pre-rigging completed but real life keeps getting in the way! :-\
