Outstanding modelling. As others have commented the paint finish is just right - it really does look as though it has been on a few sorties but it is not overdone so that it looks as though it is about to fall apart! The rigging is superb - as you write, there is a lot of it! Reading your build log was areal pleasure too - you have much to teach the rest of us when it comes to painting a detailing.

Stephen.

Ryan, Bud, john and Stephen,
Many Thanks for your much appreciated and kind comments. I feel a lot more confident regarding the finish now then when I published this thread! :)

I fear my comments will merely be echoes of those already voiced, but allow me to add to the cacophony. Really a splendid build of an equally splendid machine. To my eye the signs of usage and wear are spot on and wholly accurate in their degree and execution. And, yes, the engine is cracking, to be sure. I also very much like the colour....or the lack thereof....wonderful. I shall have to put this kite on my list and as a night fighter, to be sure.

Congratulations!

Best regards,
DP

Thank you DP for your very generous comments and for taking the time to do so. The Fee is a splendid machine, I still wonder at the courage of the aircrews that flew them, especially the Observers moving around that shallow nose section and standing to fire the guns! :o
Cheers,
Lance

I think it's super Lance!

Cracking job. They do look hard to me.. That's why I haven't tried one yet!

Good job,

Guy

Beautiful work Lance, you have recreated the Night Fe-2 perfectly.

Anyone would be proud to have this in their collection.

Best wishes,

Dave :)

Jess looks magnificent Lance! She's battered and bruised, just as I would expect to see after a considerable number of sorties under her belt. If she was sitting on a display table at a show, my eye would be drawn to her right off the bat. I'm always drawn to the overall effect of a particular model and with Jess, it's definitely the sum of all of the parts. It's easy to see why it took you four months to complete her as this is definitely a complex undertaking, and one to try the patience of any modeller. I tip my hat to you for your perseverance and skill. The end result was well worth the effort my friend. She's one to be proud of, and deserves a prominent place in your display case. Top drawer all the way!

Cheers,

Chris

Your comments are very much appreciated, Guys!
Justin, more rigging then I had dreamed of, I stopped counting eyelets at 120.......... :o
Dave and Guy, after following your AEG and Felixstowe Builds this little devil would be "mere putty in your skilled hands"!  and
Chris, your comment on patience is spot on; this one did "peg my fun meter hard right" on more then one occasion! ::)
Cheers,
Lance

Sasho,
Coming from a Guy that, IMHO, built a nicer one I am flattered! Thanks!

Bob,
Nice to hear from you, you've been pretty quiet of late; many thanks for your comment and taking the time to look at "Jess".
