CSM Gotha Crew
« on: February 14, 2016, 10:54:44 PM »
I received the CSM Gotha Crew this week
I was impressed at the quality of the casting and also at the impressive quality of the sculptures.
I find these figures are most realistic for their poses and the convincing facial expression.
Being used to great italian figure  sculptors and their production, until now I was disappointed with WW1 figures except in some cases (I remember the good Dragon Busts, some tommy at war and just some others being good), but these figures are really outstanding.
I hope that CSM will expand their range also into the 1/32 Figures, since this crew is worth every money I put on it.
I did not take many pictures since the light is very bad here, but here is some pic (sorry for their quality):

The seated figures are even more impressive, but I did not find a way to take pictures, since I should seat them on some box and I fear that they go damaged if falling... the resin  casting is very very thin and detailed with some fragile details like scarfs.

I hope you enjoy these lovely models
P.S.
the best way to order these models is to contact Edgar on this forum, since getting them from CSM website is a little tricky right now...
They accept paypal...
They are improving and I hope they will make the paypal button available in short time on their website.

I received my set direct from CSM last Saturday and can endorse everything ermeio says about these models, they are superb. I tried the two seated figures in the Felixstowe I am currently building and the fit is perfect so I have no doubt that they would be suitable for the AEG as well as the Gotha.

Chris, what do you think, would the two seated figures or one of them also fit in an average German twin-seater like e.g. A Rumpler C.IV or a Roland C.II or a Hannover C.II...? I really like their look, but don't intend to buy a Gotha soon.

Richard, I don't have either of those models but I offered the N.1 Gotha crew member up to my Albatros D.Va and it looks as though the figure would fit in position if done before the two fuselage halves were joined together. The other seated figure has his legs splayed too far apart to fit.
Hope this is of help.

Thanks, Chris! I think i'll have to get them, no matter whether they fit any plane or not: They're so beautifully sculpted!
