A very brief update, not a great deal to show for a considerable amount of Bench time this past week. I drilled and mounted 118 rigging anchor "eyelets", not the most exciting work but nice to have completed. I used Bob's Buckles as usual, here's 5 of the 118, von Buckle should be able to retire to NZ or some Tropical Paradise in record time at this rate!

The aluminum step plates on the wing walk areas were completed with Bare Metal Foil, the matte version and given a bit of dirt and scuffing with the Tamiya Weathering Master pastels.

Last, as suggested by SsashoO I removed the molded step from the Nacelle and replaced it with an accurate version done with some brass sheet stock, I like it a lot better!

I have managed to get the bomb racks for the wings and nacelle built and verified their mounting details. There's a total contradiction in configuration of the wing racks between the Wingnut representation and the 3 Views I have, more of which later.

Next I want to add a few more control cables to the engine before assembling the lower wings to the nacelle. Then it's the struts and rigging, I suspect a long haul on that phase as well!
Cheers,
Lance

Bob,
Given the size of the empty space in my Buckle Bag after this latest episode NZ may just be closer then you think....... I'll be in touch via your order  site very shortly!
Cheers,
Lance

Great to see your progress Lance. Although it was tough sledding, when I finished my Fe2b I wanted to build another. I hope my eyes can hold up, I really should order a stronger lense for my Optivisor!
Cheers,
Gary

Gary,
The "Fee" is indeed a bit of an eye test. I've worn the Optivisor more then on any other Build, surprised I remember to take it off at bed time!
As for a second one, I have the Early Version stashed away but a break may be prudent before starting that one.
Cheers,
Lance

Lovely Lance,

I'd like to build one, but find the thought of them a little intimidating!

Splendid job  ;)

Your detailing is terrific as usual! I find drilling the holes for rigging to be the most time consuming part of my builds and I haven't done a kit with any where near 118!

Thanks for your positive comments Des, Guy, and Rick. I completed the additions to the Beardmore this afternoon and will try to add a photo tomorrow; just about time to start the nacelle / wing assembly.
Cheers,
Lance

Just caught up again Lance  ;)

It's looking superb so far - love your post shading with the pastels - do you seal them in with anything? You do do some very nice touches I must say.

Looking forwards to more .

The weathered nacelle looks even more convincing in your super-close-up. I wish I could build something like this...

Tug, Stefan and Ernie,
Thanks for looking in and for your comments, much appreciated!
Tug, I normally seal Post Shading with a coat of semi-gloss clear (Vallejo Polyurethane of late) however on the black finish on this one I did only one wing and all of the shading disappeared! Given the "test" failed I re-shaded the wing and left well enough alone, this one will remain unsealed. The sealer coat has worked very well over other colours and Lozenge decals (and Aviattics PC10 and CDL Decals) as well in the past.
Cheers,
Lance
