Fokker Dr. I Eduard 1/48 + Oberrursel Taurus Models
« on: December 21, 2015, 06:45:05 AM »
Hello,
In order to relax after much demanding Fee build I` ve chosen to finally build one of my four Dr.Is.
The cockpit took me a week to assemble:

I`ve chosen to build the Frommherz`s mount:

Then for the first time I`ve tried the streaky Fokker camouflage, I know it could be done so much better (maybe next time).

Best regards
Filip

Looks pretty good top me. When I get round to  mine I'll try something similar

You have done a super job Filip, the cockpit is excellent and the streaking is very well done, looking forward to seeing what you do with the Taurus engine.

Great work Filip!
I like the streaking camo, which colours did you use?

Hello Filip,

Beautiful work in the cockpit.

Camouflage is difficult, but yours is very convincing!

Bravo!

Outstanding work in the cockpit, Filip, and the streaking looks fantastic.  Looking forward to the next update.
Cheers,

Thanks to all of you for taking time to post a comment :))
I only hope that the streaking effect is not overdone. A friend of mine has pointed out that a decal streaking would be more to scale...
Best regards

Decal streaking might be more to scale but in my oppinion much too clean...the streaking was applied by hand with a brush,no straight edge or masks were used !

That is exactly what I think, but I have my doubts when it comes to the effect I`ve acheived here...

The model is almost finished... It happened so quickly ;) The more I look at the Streaky Camouflage on my Fokker the less I like it. I`ll certainly try to do it better next time... Some minor touch ups and a prop and she`s ready...
Sorry for the poor quality pics. It`s pretty dark outside.

Best regards
Filip

Very nice Filip! If it's not too late I believe the front facing portion of the cowling should be white; this is the typical marking for Jasta B triplanes...

Ah, never mind, Frommherz's tripe didn't have the white face. (Just looked it up)

Carry on!
