Hansa Brandenburg W.29 Oblt. z s Freidrich Christiansen
« on: July 26, 2012, 01:51:59 AM »
When the WNW W.29 came out there was some surprise that the markings for Christiansen's 2512 weren't included. We've had a number of requests to do these markings, so here they are, set 32041:

A small decal sheet which includes the specific serial and markings for Christiansen's aircraft as well as three sets of numerals in the Imperial Navy style sized for the W.29, so that any W.29 can be built.

Price will be £3.50 plus p&p (although if sent with another order they are post-free, as usual) these will be available in fairly limited numbers in the next month or so. Please pre-order by emailing us at:

Very nice Rowan. Now, if I could just find the Kit with a price below the re-mortgaging of my home I'd be a happy little modeller!!
Cheers,
Lance

A great decision, and a great opportunity for Pheon in my opinion!  :)
We were all expecting for WnW "Special Edition" on the W.29, hoping that these would be included... but it seems that it will take a bit longer for them to re-release the W.29... and we do not have the certainty that these markings will be included, also...

Email inbound!  ;)

Thanks for those thoughts, Jose. I'm pretty well convinced that the lack of Christiansen's markings was due to the intention to include them in a future de-luxe kit. As that will have many other additions, not just new decals, I'm sure that producing these for those modellers who have bought the original kit, will not affect WNW in any commercial sense.

There is one other possible reason that the markings were omitted, and that is to do with Christiansen's behaviour when German governor of Holland during the Second World War. He was certainly no angel and I admit that I thought twice about producing them for that reason, but in the end I concluded that his actions during the First World War were significant enough to stand on their own. If people don't want to build a replica of his aircraft for these political reasons, no one is forcing them. It was another time and we all know that time flies like an arrow - and fruit flies like a banana, of course........
