An amazing looking Albatros and beautifully finished, the wood is excellent.

very well done Richthofen Albatros! The overpaint on the wings and tail is awesome as is the wood effect on the fuselage!!

Fantastic finish, Rick!  That is one big, beautiful Albatros. Lovely scheme, too.

Just noticed the replies for some reason  8) Thanks Vickers I appreciate your comment!

Rick,

My favorite of your two recent builds.  I also think this is the best work I have seen from you so far.

Regards

Dave

Thank you very much Dave, I greatly appreciate your input! As for the best so far, I am still kinda fond of the Jasta 4 Albie  :P

Here are some of my earlier builds, all of them D.Vs, Eduard in 1/72.

Walter Boning, Jasta 76b (this one was built quickly & OOB, and I didn't even take care of obvious errors like water pipes and similar)...

Richard Flashar, Jasta 5:

Manfred von Richthofen, JG1:

For the record, the fuselage was painted wood before using Vallejo transparent red ;)

Terrifics models here !!!
I've three DV in my collection and all from the Jasta 5.

First I build in 1/72 the Eduard model, The plane of Fritz Oppenhorst.

The l'Oblt Richard Flasher one...

And the 1/48 Eduard of Fritz Rumey

And a photo of all the family...

Cheers
Alain

Very nice, they look larger than 1/72 !!!

A beautiful trio of Albatri! The 1/72nd certainly could be mistaken for a larger scale!

Built a LONG time ago, 1/72 Pegasus DVa converted to DV.
Lozenge is Aeromaster, and the skull decal is Americal.
Old interpretation of Monnington's DV. Looking at the picture today, it seems obvious that the upper wing was green / mauve.
