Excellent results with the PE Lance! You may have mentioned this but is the Brengun set available to purchase and who is the best source?
Looking forward to your next update,

I got my set from Hannants last month Rick, they showed it out of stock but "on order" 2 days ago when I checked. I couldn't find a closer supplier but didn't search that hard as Rowan from Pheon recommended it to me and said it was available at Hannants.
Thanks for the supportive comment. :)
Cheers,
Lance

Ed, Des, Martin, and Tug,
I much appreciate your comments and encouragement. Most of the various components are now primed and drying, next steps will be some cockpit detail and some Decal work on the lower wing and Flight Control surfaces. I'm waiting for some "45 Degree joined Lozenge" from Aviattic for the upper wing.
Cheers,
Lance

I've made a fair amount of progress since the last photos, so here's another update as of this morning.
The cowling had the double retention straps added; stretched sprue threaded on with super thin CA did it nicely.

I judged the "lip" on the forward opening adequate and primed the cowling for a coat of Alclad II later.

The upper decking has it's coat of Alclad Dull Aluminum, the Ammunition magazine had to be trimmed to allow closing of the fuselage. (conflicted with some of the installed PE additions)

The cockpit area is about 90% complete, the seat from the Brengun PE Set and belts are HGW.

The instruments are a mix of the kit ones and a scratch built one, all with PE Bezils added, decals from the spares box with Future lenses. The control rods for the fuel and oil selectors were added, the wire bracing lines at the extreme front, some "plumbing" lines as well, and a scratch built spark advance selector and control was added to the left side. (more or less hidden behind the seat side)

The "baffle" behind the seat is from the Brengun Photo Etch Set as well.

The wings and flight control surfaces all have received a coat of Tamiya Gloss white in preparation for the Aviattic Lozenge.

Finally, perfect timing with the arrival of yesterday's mail; the package from Aviattic with the resin Siemens-Halske SHIII Engine and the 45 Degree joined lozenge.

Sorry about the poor quality photo, but you get the effect I'm sure!
Next is a welcome break from the cockpit detailing, that engine is going to be a long and busy session or two and I'm looking forward to some decaling as well.
Still going well, the Kit is a solid basis for a good model however it's not a "perfect out of the box" contender!
Cheers,
Lance

Super stuff Lance. Was hoping you'd upgrade to the Aviattic SSH, it's a beautiful kit unto itself.

Thanks Des, Bo, and Petrov,
Yes, the Aviattic SSH Kit looks really impressive, so much so that I have entertained thoughts of building the Kit Engine for the aircraft and having the Resin version on a Maintenance Stand beside the aircraft. Seems a shame to hide something like that under a cowling and oversized spinner, but then look at what we all do to our cockpits! :-\ :-\
Got the bottom surface of the lower wing done in lozenge this PM, going well so far!
Cheers,
Lance
