Bondic
« on: June 24, 2015, 05:25:57 AM »
I did a search and didn't see where this was mentioned before, so I thought I would.
I saw this product for the first time this week, Bondic http://notaglue.com/
It is like the material they use on your teeth, it is a liquid until you shine an ultraviolet light on it and then it solidifies.
It can be sanded and painted.  It is sold as a "liquid plastic welder" and would be pretty handy to have in your toolbox.
I can see some uses for it in our hobby, but it is a little pricey.

Thanks very much Mack for the heads-up on this product, from what I have read it appears to have plenty of uses in our hobby.

Thumbs up,
I can see use for this product as a filler but not for a cement for resin models. Parts placed closely together would not allow penetration of ultra violet light to harden the liquid.

My wife bought a pack for me.  I put it in the shop without even looking at it!  I guess I should look atbthe instructions and figure out what it will do!

I see your point, but I was thinking about !/72 where the resin is almost transparent in some cases.

Tamiya do a light curing putty and there are plenty of uv curing adhesives available from ladies fingernail polish suppliers.

Cheers
