When is correct to use 4 color lozenges, or five one?
« on: June 25, 2012, 02:02:25 AM »
We know that there are two types of lozenges in four and five colors for day use on German planes. Is there some rule that defines the use of one or the other?

Yes google "lozenge 101" and you'll find the aeroscale thread ... read through it and you'll be up to speed :-)

Stephen's article is the "Bible" of lozenge history, application, and usage in WWI; highly recommended.

Very, very good thread!  Many times I saw indications of four colors used first than five color lozenges, but the five colors appeared first, and only in Spring 1918 the four colors started the using.  Awesome!

This theme is very important and I am still amazed that there is no book in the Windsock series addressing this!
