Hansa Brandenburg GI
« on: February 16, 2015, 01:59:14 AM »
This is the Choroszy kit ,had to get it off my workbench for the groupbuild.Started in 2013 she almost ended as a shelf queen, she really was a pain in the a.. to build.I had corrected the badly  warped wings at the start, but guess what happened after painting and decaling?Right, now they warped again.I know now that it is well possible to put a finished resin wing in boiling water without spoiling the finish,of course I had sealed the decals with  flat clear acryl varnish. This is my first attempt on translucent wings, done with pencils and dry brushing(no airbrush used).

Outstanding job on a very unusual type, Matz!  She's truly stunning.
Cheers,

A plane rarely shown. It is superb, and the assembly had to be difficult! Congratulations, I really like!  ;)

Thanks, guys, much appreciated!Des,it's 72nd scale. And yes, this was a VERY difficult one and one that was close to getting binned several times.I'm glad you like it !

Glad you didn't bin it in the end , she turned out wonderful . Those struts would cause me to have a few more grey hairs ..

Thanks Terri, thanks Xan! Well,Terri, being a modeler for nearly 15 years now there's not much colour left of my former chestnut brown hair, believe me!Besides, the kit struts were the first to hit the bin, along with the gun rings .Just too fragile to be cleaned of the excess resin.

Very nice model and unusual subject. I always admire those who tackle rather crude Choroszy resin kits and get to such great results.Congratulations!
