Oeffag H colors
« on: February 18, 2015, 09:35:01 AM »
I am in the process of building the Ludemann 1/72 Oeffag H. Banifield's A11 I am debating what to paint it. I am leaning towards NVF with standard KUK red white red wing, tail and rudder stripes with iron crosses. I know the plane was painted dark blue later on it's career. Does anyone know when? This plane had a long service life being delivered in October 1916 flow by Banifield on and off from march 1917 to September 1918 and Deleated in October 1918. Any information would be usefull. Thanks in advance.

I took a look at Die Flugzeuge der k.u.k. Luftfahrtruppe und Seeflieger 1914-1918 - there is a photo of A11, caption dates it from Spring 1917, has the 200hp Hiero - there does not appear to be red/white markings or crowns, just natural finish. The book also has a simple profile illustration with A11 in blue, captioned as flown by Banfield in Summer 1917 - couldn't find anything on A11 right now. HTH.
