Making Tarps

<< < (5/5)

Doug Mace:
I've been thinking about trying a similar method to recreate a canvas effect to build a hangar/tent for a 1/32 diorama but had the idea that maybe a very sheer silk might work by wrinkling similarly with paint. The canvas used for large tents from that time might be a bit thicker than what they'd have wrapped aircraft with and I would maybe want a bit less wrinkling, wouldn't you think? Dunno, just spitballing here.   -DM

I've thought of doing the same thing, a hangar/tent, in 1/72nd, but I always figured I'd make a glorious mess of it.

Being impressively unsuccessful with the use of tissue for tarps, I came out using Andrea sculpt instead, that is two component sculpting stuff. To be seen in use with my Albatros D.V "Schnucki", somewhere in the "completed models" section.
