Great to revisit that little jewel SE5a, Przemo...

Squiffy, an alternative to cardboard for jigs is sheet styrene; the principal advantages are that it is stiff and can be quickly built up around the subject at hand with small pieces fastened with  drops of thin liquid cement... Vincent's Pfalz build illustrates perfectly how I also go about doing this kind of thing, hope he doesn't mind me stealing a pic or two:

As no one else seems to have built one of these, or at least hasn't posted pictures that I'm aware of, here's mine...

I eventually overcame the strut location problem by drilling the dimples in the planes deeper (in the end there was no need to pin them) and lined them up by eye, but there are other things to watch out for.

There are no locating holes, or dimples, whatsoever on the fuselage so I compared those on the WNW Pup and drilled accordingly. T top plane does have locating holes but the comparative distance between the cabane struts, fore and aft, is shorter on the HR model than on the WNW, so when I came to put the top plane on, the locating holes in the top plane were in the wrong place! I had to drill new ones to suit.

Another small problem is that the arrow and name decals have been printed so that they face the opposite way to each other. The WNW model has them both facing toward the front so, on one side, I had to cut the arrow off and place it as a seperate item so that it faced forward. The roundels do appear to be too bright and also have the white border for the upper ones so, in line with the WNW model, I replaced them with another set that are darker and do not have the white border.

Good God! My Pup has had a... er... Puplet!

The 72nd scale Pup on its own.
