Thanks for posting Terri.  This looks like a complete improvement over the earlier SSW.

I am sure that is going to be a fantastic kit! Jealous that it will be 1/48 instead of 1/32 but as noted WNW is keeping the larger scale folks spoiled for choices....

Hi Terri,

many many years ago, I built the old Eduard SSW model.
I needed more putty like glue for it.  ::)
But, the end result was not bad.
I built the SSW of Udet, red fuselage and white "LO" on each side.

Thanks for the pictures. ;)
Unfortunately for me the wrong scale.

Terri

Thanks for leading the charge on your SSW DIII, Terri!  I've no doubt that your commitment to detailing and building the original release was the karmic trigger that caused Eduard to tool up a new one; that's how the strings of the modeling universe work. I've taken credit for a few new releases myself; the Eduard Sopwith Camel (finally released about 2 months after I finished my Blue Max kit) and the Hasegawa 1/32nd Fw190A-8 (announced just three weeks after I finished the Rutman kit)

I got to pick this (test-shot) build up today at the IPMS Nationals and look at it up close and from all angles.  It will be a stunner!  The gentleman from Eduard said it "isn't perfect yet" and he glued it together in a couple of hours before the show.  The markings options were on display also - some really colorful schemes on the way…

Thanks Rob for the info, from the sounds of things Eduard are going to make sure that this will be a perfect kit with excellent markings, November is not that far off.

Let's hope that Eduard's new SSW DIII reaches the bar set in this scale by Gaspatch with their delightful Salmson trio.

Best wishes

Thanks very much Terri for all the close-up photos, this certainly looks like it is going to be one of their best models yet.
