Schaefer's Albatros D.II
« on: May 22, 2014, 07:38:05 PM »
I have recently become aware of two- and three-colour wings and tailplane theories regarding Albatros D.IIs.
My question is, if I should follow Roden's instruction indicating dark green - light green - brown camo for Schaefer's D.II 1724/16 from Kasta 11?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I know this isn't a modelling forum, but most of the skins are historically accurate,

Hope this helps

Churchill: If I were your husband I would take it.

Panthercules can be relied on as having done his homework...

Thank you, Justin and Bo for your help. However, it seems I am not clever enough to use it. I even registered to RoF but I still cannot see the skin for Schafer's Albatros. I read the description given by Panthercules but that is all. Then I tried to follow to the roots of late Dan-San article from The Aerodrome. But this led me to Scribd, where I also registered but cannot find the article. Anybody help a wayward internet-idiot?

Here is Panthercules original version:

Revised version based on DSA:

If you want I can take screenies of the final skin in game from all angles. However it will be a few days, I am on holiday, game machine is at home of course, so maybe someone can do it sooner...

Bo, thanks a lot. I would be even more grateful, if you reveal other views. A few days is not a problem at all, I am now working on the fuselage gap filling and sanding. Camo painting is still remote.
