Canvas Knights WW1 Game
« on: June 26, 2014, 08:43:41 AM »
Hi all  :)

I am here to inform you about a new WW1 game called Canvas Knights its not a hard core simulation but it is enough so that one can get immersed in it and is out as beta for free and can be downloaded here;
http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=34411

In this beta game you not only get to fly you also get to drive ground vehicles like tanks and so on and the full game when it comes out will be air, land, sea and under sea user vehicles with their proper physics for each kind of vehicle, this is a online off line game and right now the server can hold up to 24 players, I would like to give you a few screen shots then the links to the game stuff.

There is also add-on planes and vehicles that can be downloaded here;
http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=198

Many add-on skins that can be downloaded here;
http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=145

Also add-on off line missions that can be downloaded here;
http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=147

The game is modable even as a beta game and there are modding
tutorials on the forum as well as help.

So come have a look download it and have a play around with it.

I hope you enjoy it.

Silly question, probably, but why is it called Canvas Knights? What's canvas got to do with anything?

An allusion to the linen fabric covering of the aircraft no doubt, although it technically wasn't "canvas." You make tents out of canvas. :)

Neat eindecker model :)

Really not a silly question if you are not aware of the inner workings of making a game product and your not the first to ask and more then likely will not be the last, when making a game that will go on the market you need a title that can be copy written, back in late 2009 early 2010 we went on the look for a name / title that could be copy written for a digital PC game we went through hundreds of names till we came to Canvas Knights and found it was not ever used for a digital PC game so we grabbed it, believe me I would had like to have called the game Knights of the Sky's or First Eagles or even Red Baron... But all them names along with many many others where already taken for PC games and Linen Knights just don't have the same ring to it IMO.
