Lone Star Model's FE-8
« on: June 17, 2014, 09:17:47 AM »
As mentioned before not an aircraft type we hear much about . Ed did a beautiful job and inspired me to share another take on this bird .

For those who have seen this already I apologize for having to put you through this all over again .

For those who haven't seen this one before here is a run down on the kit and build . Bud is correct about this kit . Not one of Mike's best but he does have a some beautiful vac kit's . Still got a few in the stash . I was given two other kit's in hope that the vac parts would be better , wasn't so . So I pushed forward and only used the two fuselage halves and the very basic engine .Wheels and prop are for the spare box . Everything else is scratched built over the course of a year and half . David Lee , Our very own Gregory and John Mckenzie where a huge aid in a lot of my questions with info to make this possible Not to mention all the support along the way . This is my first scratch build ..well 99.7% .

Terri,
I remember the original build thread in the old days on Aeroscale. I was impressed then and I remain the same !

I also remember this build from many moons ago, and it still looks very good today. Thanks for bringing this one back into the daylight Terri.

Thanks for the replay, T!  This is your best completed WWI model to date, although your SSW is showing signs of surpassing this little beauty.  Still, your FE8 is truly remarkable.  I wish you could somehow post your build log here.  Your work on her was phenomenal.
Cheers,
Bud

Great to have you here, Terri! And thanks for bringing this one once again to our eyes. It might have just motivated me to buy and build one, but from Choroszy resin in 72nd scale.

Excellent model of a less well known type. Great to see another model of this type presented here. A vacuform in 1/48 scale gives me the shivers…. not one that I would tackle!

Terri,

I'm always impressed by anybody that does scratch building work on their models.

Great work
