You did very well grinding the inside of the engine cowl Terri, I can see that the engine is a very tight fit. Removing the moul;ded spark plug leads will prove very time consuming but it will be well worth the effort. Looking at your last photo it is easy to see the out of shape crank case. A really fine effort so far Terri.

Thanks Des  :)

It was a little nerve racking grinding the inside of the cowl . One slip the wrong way could have resulted in damage which would have been a nightmare to repair . I spent a bit of time looking at reviews on the engine , but those yielded no answers . They pretty much gave a high praise . No one mentioned the mishap of the crank case or the spark plug leads . So I hope others who have this engine set can use this for mods on their project and in reality they don't have to cut off 2mm of each cylinder .

The leads I will just scrap them away and hopefully I will do no damage to the detail . Will have to make new spark plugs so it looks like it will be a fun weekend in front of the bench  :)

Terri
I remember the difficult work to insert in this model some years ago. I don`t know where. But the cylinder also are shortened.
Your work is very great.

Hi Guy's ,

A Nasty cold hit me and really wasn't up to spending much time online this past week , those head colds can be real torture .
I did make progress on the engine last weekend and have it all the parts ready for paint . My spark plugs turned out a tad over scale , but you won't be able to really see them once the prop/spinner is place . The wiring harness I made using a few punched discs and copper wire . Push rods I will use brass rod . As it turns out my plan didn't pay off in the end with the egging effect on the crank case . It still needs another 1mm removed , question is do I move on or have no choice but sand the top row of rocker arms ...

Your model is looking extremely good Terri and the work you have done so far on the engine is excellent.
